NORTHFIELD VILLAGE – Police say a man who eluded them after robbing the CVS on Route 8 June 2 around 9:30 p.m. may be linked to robberies in other towns.
Northfield Village Officer in Charge Sgt. John Zolgus said a man dressed in dark clothing brandished a gun and told a store clerk to “give me all the money in the register.”
Zolgus said police aren’t sure of the exact amount the man escaped with, but estimated it to be “a couple hundred dollars.” There were no injuries.
He said village police chased the man while Macedonia, Walton Hills and other surrounding police departments set up a perimeter. Brecksville Police responded with a K-9 who lost the scent of the man in the Houghton Road area.
Zolgus said police believe the man is also responsible for robberies in Twinsburg, Oakwood Village and Warrensville Heights and are working with FBI officials. He declined to comment further on specifics of the case.
